And the “first ending” was probably in Kates mind(because she was going crazy. Also, Kates mother definitely had some mental issues. The kids probably saw the ghosts but they didnt tell because they were scared and maybe threatened. Also, I feel bad for Miles. Cause the lady said that he used to be sweet, but it was Quints fault that Miles turned out that way. Miles was being influenced by Quint(obviously not in a good way. Ngl the whole thing about how their parents died and how Flora was like “I dont wanna die” That may be connected with the ghosts but Im not 100% on that. The only thing Im not sure about is the actual ending because, how did she get there? Like, was it a vision? Nightmare? Kates imagination? That might be just the way they wanted the movie to end, with the whole “what happens?” & “Thats it?” feeling. Nice horror movie tho.
